We use China’s data as a base for calculating Shenzhen’s Innovation sub-indices. We adjust Mainland innovation scores, as the dependent variable, from a regression which regresses Shenzhen’s GDP per capita and its proportion of GDP in industry with the innovation scores held by other countries with similar levels of these GDP per capitals and industrialisation.
